2017 McCormick X6.440 VT DRIVE

The X6 VT-Drive series is a new range of medium-high power tractors derived from the modern X6 Series. The new tractor family retains the same cab features, front axle and hydraulic system as the X6, but is offered in three models instead of only two. The use of a continuously variable transmission specially developed by Argo Tractors to increase the usable power made it possible to expand the range with a third model, the X6.440, capable of delivering up to 140 hp with the Power Plus system. The transmission is controlled via a joystick controller integrated into a multifunction armrest. The solution developed by Argo Tractors engineers makes the X6 VT-Drive tractors very easy to use across a variety of applications, such as heavy field operations, yard activities, livestock farming activities and municipal tasks. The three models in the range are powered by Betapower 4.5L engines with SCR catalytic converter that meet the Tier 4 Interim emission standards. Equipped with Power Plus system to deliver additional horsepower, these engines offer maximum power ratings of 121, 133 and 140 hp. In line with McCormick high-end tractor range, the Deluxe Cab is designed and equipped to offer industryleading standards of comfort, visibility and quietness. The cab can be optionally fitted with mechanical suspension.

Featuring a four-post design with a flat-deck platform and rear hinged doors, the new Deluxe cab offers easy access to the drivers seat and unmatched all-round visibility. The driving position with multiple adjustments features an air suspension seat and a telescopic tilt-adjustable steering wheel that tilts with the instrument panel. The main controls are conveniently integrated into the right-hand console for maximum comfort and ease of operation. The interior features a sleek and modern design with automotive-grade fit and finish and ergonomically-arranged controls. Perfectly soundproofed, pressurised and air-conditioned, the cab of the X6 tractor offers a comfortable environment for long hours in the field. A mechanical suspension is optionally available for extra comfort. A roof hatch ensures perfect visibility for loader work. Fourteen powerful halogen lights provide excellent illumination for working at night.

The new hydraulic system is optionally available in a closed-centre configuration (LS) with a total flow rate of 110 l/min. It features up to five load sensing remote valves with controls integrated into the right-hand console allowing an efficient use of the implements for greater versatility. Two remote valves are controlled by a joystick controller (1) to operate a front loader, while the remaining three valves are controlled by levers.
